Nelspruit at a glance
Mpumalanga is the eastern province of South-Africa and its surroundings have a history that extends back thousands of years.
The Drakensberg divides Mpumalanga into a high-altitude grassland called the Highveld and an eastern half in a low altitude that’s subtropical Lowveld /Bushveld mostly savanna habitat. The Drakensberg exceeds heights of 2000 m in most places, with this central region of Mpumalanga being very mountainous.
The Kruger National Park and its southern half bordering Mpumalanga that’s an hour’s drive from Mbombela previously Nelspruit. Mbombela is a city in the north-eastern side of South Africa. It is the capital and the largest city of the Mpumalanga province and located on the Crocodile River.
The city lies about 110 km west of the Mozambique border, 280 km east of Pretoria, 150km east of Middelburg and was one of the host cities of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
